Fallen earth would be closer to Next-gen than Aion, and I don't think Fallen Earth is even close to be being a Next-gen MMO. FE sit's just outside the mainstreem MMO box. To where Aion is mix of east and west MMO's, So it's double box in the same ol, same ol.
Well, next-gen is a buzz word that gets thrown around a bit, but in general I think it means that next defining step in the evolution of X.

There have been others in terms of MMO's besides WoW, but Aion is not one of them.
The reason being, is that it does absolutely nothing fucking new.
It is as vanilla as vanilla gets.
To be next-gen, you kind of have to break the mold. They have failed epically to do that.
